Cambridge City Council and Axis Europe are working together to deliver a Net Zero Retrofit Pilot Project with the retrofit of houses and flats on Ross Street and Coldhams Grove. The purpose of this project is to provide healthy, comfortable, energy-efficient housing for our residents.

Why are pre-condition surveys required?These are important visits before the work starts. Firstly this is an opportunity to speak to you in person, explain the process and answer your questions. We are also looking for any additional work that may need to happen ahead of the retrofit work taking place.

Which streets does the Net Zero Retrofit Pilot cover?The project comprises of around fifty households in Ross Street and Coldham's Grove, who have signed up to the pilot voluntarily.

What are the main elements of work?The proposed retrofit works are extensive and include the installation of: External wall, floor and roof insulation at rafter level Triple glazed windows and highly insulated external doors Air source heat pumps (ASHPs), efficient hot water storage and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) Roof mounted photovoltaic panels (PV)
